Description
The Rezatbrücke bridge, located on the A6 federal highway between the Herrieden and Lichtenau interchanges, crosses the A6, a rural and forest public road, the Fränkische Rezat river, and the Malmersdorf - Immeldorf municipal road.
The renovation of the bridge, which is over 50 years old, has become essential due to the overall poor condition of the structure and its insufficient load-bearing capacity for current traffic conditions. Since its construction, the rapid increase in freight and heavy vehicle traffic has significantly changed the usage of the structure, which is not prepared for these high demands.
Considering the planned expansion of the A6 to six lanes, a repair is not feasible from a technical or economic perspective. The new bridge will therefore be designed to withstand current and future traffic loads.
To ensure a durable and future-ready construction, only robust and proven construction methods will be applied.
