Through an innovative approach that enabled aggregate recycling, it became the world’s first cable-stayed bridge to incorporate recycled materials, establishing itself as a pilot project in sustainable engineering. The structure received an award from the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering, which recognised its pioneering and environmentally responsible nature—a project that ConstruGomes was proud to be part of.
