Description
The cement production industry is responsible for 6 to 8% of global carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. In an effort to reduce these pollutant gases, European researchers have developed an experimental cement plant in Belgium – the GO4ZERO project.
The GO4ZERO project is based on the development of a new clinker production process, using an innovative carbon purification system that enables carbon dioxide capture without the need for additional chemicals. The goal is for the project to be operational by 2029, with an estimated annual capture and storage of around 1.1 million tonnes of CO₂.
As part of ConstruGomes' scope of work, the company is responsible for the execution of foundations, lintels, beams, columns, and slabs. These structures involve formwork installation and removal, assembly and dismantling of working platforms, installation of embedded elements, and concreting – all of which fall under ConstruGomes' responsibility.
